Catherine Ford is a British actress born in Bloomsbury. Following the time her father's departure from the household, the actress was grew up by her mother, godparents, and grandmother. When she was a girl, Ford was battling anxious disorders, obsessive/compulsive and was afflicted through word-related associations. Ford's love for acting grew as a child. She was a part of the National Youth Theatre. Ford was accepted to Sylvia Young Theatre School but after a week, she decided that she didn't fit in. Ford rather applied to the Central School of Speech and Drama and was able to secure the position on her 4th application. Shaun Dingwall would play Pete Tyler who is a character that was recurring for Doctor Who. Ford's television debut was in the 1991 episode Surgical Spirit. By the moment she was done with school, Ford already went by "Catherine Tate". Tate appeared in TV shows such as The Bill, Men Behaving Badly and London's Burning during the Nineties. Tate was also a regular performer as a theatre actor and was eventually a part of in the Royal Shakespeare Company during its season between 2000 and 2001. Tate started to get noticed for her stand up comedy in the year 1996.
