American musician and actor Awkwafina debuted with sly rap tracks that tackled sexuality and racial identities with a an incisive and humorous perspective, before increasing her presence in Hollywood. Nora Lum began her musical path as a trumpeter. She was born in Forest Hills Queens, she was the daughter of Chinese immigrants and Koreans. The classical, jazz, and hip-hop education began when she was in her teens. When she was in high her schooling, she specialized in journalism and woman's studies. She studied Mandarin during a time in Beijing. The focus on music until after she graduated.
